Periodization is an approach to organising (harmoniously and optimally integrating) the components of the psycho-physical training programme throughout the sporting week, month and year
(general preparation phase - specific preparation phase - competitive phase - transition phase), in order to reach peak performance at the crucial moment (the competition)
There are biannual, annual or quarterly training programmes for every type of sport, which set out the type and degree of intensity of training and recovery times for each day of the year. They consist of: macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles.
In addition to managing the Periodization plan, the Kinesiologist can personally follow athletes from every sporting discipline in their Athletic Training.
